The Alder Residence

Memphis Jack Alder III’s residence is located on the lower west side of Manhattan in the Fleming Smith Warehouse. Alder’s residence reflects his love for classic movies and books and fashion while incorporating universal design and sustainable materials and products. Natural lighting from the South and East walls windows travel throughout the residence highlighting the historical features, such as the segmental arches, symmetrically grouped windows, and exposed brick walls, the Fleming Smith Warehouse has to offer.  When entering the Alder residence, a meld of Modern and Victorian styles is embraced through ornate architectural details and furniture and refined lighting and finishes. The architectural details include decorative moldings and trim around doorways, windows, and arches, wainscoting, and cornices. The refined and modern finishes include copper faucets, brushed nickel hardware, and marble quartz countertops. Deep sophisticated colors such as plum purple, indigo blue, and hunter green have been used in the master suite to create a relaxing and peaceful environment.  Alder loves to entertain his family and friends. Incorporating a gourmet kitchen, large open floor plan with various seating areas, and areas to spend personal time with family and friends such as an exercise room and a home theater.
